Frequently Asked Questions

HTML to PDF FAQs

Answers to the questions people ask most about using HTML to PDF.

How do I convert a web page to PDF?

Paste the page's URL into HTML to PDF on MyPDFMate and click HTML to PDF. Our server renders the page in a real browser engine and returns a PDF you can download.

How do I convert an HTML file to PDF?

Upload the .html or .htm file, or paste HTML code into the text box, and click HTML to PDF.

How do I save a webpage as PDF in Chrome?

Press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on Mac), set Destination to Save as PDF and click Save. This also works for pages that require you to be logged in.

Can I convert a page that requires a login?

No. Our server only sees the public version of a page. For private pages, open them in your browser and use Print → Save as PDF.

Why does my PDF look different from the website?

Sites can use separate print styles, load images only as you scroll, or show cookie banners, and some block automated rendering. Try a different URL for the same content, or use your browser's Print → Save as PDF.

Can I save an entire long webpage as one PDF?

Yes. The whole page is rendered and split across as many PDF pages as it needs.

Why won't my pasted HTML show images or styles?

Relative paths like images/logo.png can't be found on our server. Use full https:// URLs for images and stylesheets, or put your CSS inside a <style> tag.

How do I save a webpage as PDF on iPhone?

In Safari, tap Share → Options → PDF, then save to Files. Or paste the URL into HTML to PDF on MyPDFMate.

Why are my files saving as Chrome HTML instead of PDF?

The file is a saved web page (.html) that your computer opens with Chrome, not a real PDF. Convert it with HTML to PDF, or open it in Chrome and use Print → Save as PDF.

Is HTML to PDF free and private?

Yes, it's free with no sign-up. Your file is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our conversion server, converted, and deleted automatically within about an hour. It is never shared or used for anything else.
